Tips for the Perfect Welcome Basket

Whether you are getting married in your hometown or having an exotic destination wedding, chances are that a lot of your guests will be traveling.  It’s important to remember that these loved ones are spending considerable time and money to spend your special day with you.

A great way to show your appreciation, especially with a destination wedding is with a great out of town bag!   These tokens make great keepsakes that also introduce your guests to local culture.  When you’re putting the bag together include things your city or location is known for.  For example, if you’re planning a beach wedding in North Carolina, treat guests to Cheerwine! For a Texas Wedding, pack a bottle of spicy BBQ sauce!  If you want to brighten up a California bag, toss in a few Valencia oranges and lemons.

Gift bags can be fun and can even be themed around your wedding location! Get creative and keep them festive!

Welcome bags are also a great place to include information about local activities. Include a local map, brochures from nearby wineries,  some menus from gourmet restaurants, white-water rafting information or even a golf course brochure for the men!  Have a few golf balls labeled with your names and wedding date or throw in a few tokens for a round of golf to keep the men in good spirits. Don’t be afraid to call a few local businesses to ask if they would offer coupons for your gift basket. Chances are a nearby spa would be happy to offer coupons for mani-pedis or even a relaxing massage.

Personalized golf balls make excellent additions to your gift bag and the men of your bridal party will definitely put them to good use!
