As we’ve seen in previous news coverage, this wedding was first class all the way. From the Chuppah to the post wedding brunch, we have some exclusive new details!

The chuppah was incredible!  It was constructed out of willow branches and decorated with white roses and hydrangeas. It was shaped like a dome and was lit up for it to be visible throughout the night. In true Jewish tradition,  Marc broke the glass at the end of the ceremony and the Rabbi told guests that Chelsea and Marc plan on putting the glass back together to make a mezuzah for their apartment!

The reception, a lovely lilac and white theme, was held in a tented construction in the rear of Astor Courts, with chandeliers, air conditioning and a huge dance floor. The grounds of Astor Courts were also lit up,  framing the marquee, pool area and the Chuppah under the stars.

LastBlogPic2Tables were set up in mixed arrangements – some were circular and there was a dais where the bridal party and family were seated. Guests were seated at each table, with a personalized printed menu for every person, instead of a standard name card.

Our source mentioned that hydrangeas were the main flower used throughout the reception and throughout the house. Lilies and Roses were also used in the table decor. The flowers were set up in a mix of  high and low centerpieces with a variety of candle and water arrangements. Each table had three or four different arrangements of roses and hydrangeas. There was a minimum of 100 roses on every table!

Because of Chelsea’s food allergy, the bread was gluten-free and of course,  the huge 11-tier white wedding cake was gluten free as well! There was also salad, risotto, a choice of Arctic Char, and Angus steak on the menu. Our source tells us,  “We didn’t finish eating until 1am or so.”

The Band was composed of 20-25 people, with a full string section and a standard band! Marc and Chelsea did a pretty, sexy tango style for their first dance, which really showed how very much in love they are.

Chelsea had her first dance with Bill where he shed a tear on the dance floor.  The hora was danced, and yes, both Bill and Hillary were raised on the chairs and carried around the room!

One of the highlights of the night was Marc’s speech in which he described asking for Chelsea’s hand-in-marriage from the former President, Bill Clinton, both surreal and hilarious! Another surreal moment, says our source, was watching Vera Wang dance with Madeline Albright!

After the band wrapped at 1:30, guests were led to the Tennis Court area which was converted into a lounge, this time with red hydrangeas and red roses everywhere!  Then came comfort food, Grilled Cheese with Truffle, Seared Tuna, Mini Sliders and Red Velvet Cupcakes. Chelsea kept the party going with a DJ and an electric violinist.

As if the wedding was not spectacular enough, the following morning’s brunch was another memorable event.   It took place in a magnificent barn in Rhinebeck. After having IDs checked, guests were escorted by golf cart to the barn!

The barn had two 20-foot walls  covered in sunflowers and  guests sat at informal communal tables. The barn overlooked a massive expanse which added to the beauty of the weekend.   Chelsea looked beautiful and glowed in a bright blue summer dress, as did Hillary. The brunch reflected elegance and beauty just like the new bride.  It was a perfect end to a perfect summer weekend!
