Who says football has to be a guy’s sport? Alright, I’ll admit it; I don’t know the first thing about the game but I do love a good tailgate! If you’re getting married in the fall or even in the winter chances are it’ll be a weekend when your future husband’s football team is playing and god forbid he miss the game! So, in honor of the Super Bowl, I’ve come up with some ideas on how to plan your wedding with a subtle football theme.
The Steelers will be taking on the Packers this Sunday so I’m going to pretend that I’m planning a Steelers-themed wedding.
First things first, themed weddings can sometimes be tacky, so you need to be careful here as to not overdo it.
The Steelers colors are black and yellow. These are very easy colors to incorporate into your wedding day. This black and yellow table setting looks both classy and elegant but also fitting with those iconic colors. You can even go a little bit further with the theme and have the table numbers correspond with football jersey numbers.
When you are finally announced as bride and groom, all your guests can swing the ‘terrible towel’ around to really get the party started. These can also work as favors!
How adorable are these garter belts? You can find these for almost every team. They are cute and fun – even if you’re not planning on having a football themed wedding.
I’ve always loved the idea of a groom’s cake. I think it’s a great way to incorporate something that he loves (other than you!) into the wedding day.
There are so many more ideas to incorporate a little Super Bowl and fun into your wedding, but just remember to not overdo with the themes and keep the Football Fun simple and classy!
