Mark Ingram at The Wedding Bootcamp

Mark Ingram was an incredibly gracious host for our Wedding Bootcamp on Monday night and we couldn’t be more thrilled.  Not only was he an amazing host but we didn’t mind looking at all the gorgeous wedding gowns either!

Here is a recap as to what Mark shared with our brides!

Brides are getting better about spending and we are seeing a lot more extravagant wedding gowns again, especially thanks to Chelsea Clinton and her incredible Vera Wang gown and the upcoming Kate Middleton wedding gown- have we mentioned we can’t wait!!!  Women are more often buying 2 to 3 dresses to wear for their big day.  The events are getting longer and they want to look different at all parts of the wedding.   Mark mentioned that Strapless gowns with big statement necklaces, jewelry and accessories are huge for the season ahead and the veil is coming back big time.

Mark also commented on the Royal Wedding saying that Kate will surprisingly steer away from Diana’s look.  She’s more modern and her look will be sleeker on top with a controlled full skirt.  Mark forecasted a long train with a long veil for the gorgeous Kate.

When deciding on where you should buy your dress, Mark said that you want to have peace of mind as this is one of the biggest purchases in your life.  You need to commit to the salon because it’s going to be a year to a year and a half relationship.  You also need to consider the location, what makes sense to you, ask questions, and check the price points.

Now for those looking to save, Mark recommends figuring out early on what you are willing to compromise on.  The photographs are what last visually, so don’t compromise on your dress.  Figure out how you want to look and then look for sample sales, off the rack deals, etc.  Mark recommends an incredible sample sale dress site, The Aisle New York http://www.theaislenewyork.com/ for couture gowns at sample sale pricing.

Mark mentioned he always advises brides not to try dresses on that are over budget, as that can lead the way to disappointment. Go into your salon with a budget and an idea and enjoy the experience!
