Picking the perfect gown for your wedding day can be a daunting task. You want to make sure that you look beautiful, feel comfortable and love the dress. Why shouldn’t your shoes make you feel the same way?
Shoes can often be an oversight in the wedding process, but let me tell you, they are just as important! Don’t you want to be comfortable and feel beautiful in them? We thought so!
Here are some tips to keep in mind when picking out your wedding shoes!
1. Comfort Level
You are going to be standing for the majority of the day, make sure that are comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Also note that you will be dancing, so make sure you can move around in them!
2. Height of the Heel & Width
I’m a sucker for a big heel, but the heel height is directly related to the comfort level. Your wedding day shouldn’t be the first time you wear a stiletto. Look into wearing a wedge or kitten heel or if you prefer a flat, look into ballet slippers!
**Note that the shoe you are wearing on the day of your wedding should be brought to dress alterations. Nothings worse than a dress that’s too long or too short**
Most wedding shoes are either silk or satin. You can find alternate options, just make sure they go with your dress.
White, ivory, tan, beige, gold, silver, etc. Wedding shoes come in a variety of colors. Make sure the color that you choose matches/coordinates with your gown. Don’t choose an ivory shoe if your dress is white. More and more brides are choosing colors that coordinate with the colors of the wedding…don’t be afraid of color, your shoes should be an expression of who you are!
