Tips and Trends from Our Latest Wedding Bootcamp

photo4 BB 05212012Our New York Wedding Bootcamp Monday night at Mark Ingram Atelier was a great success!  While the brides-to-be (and some brave hubbies) snacked on mini cupcakes from Baked By Mellissa and sipped on cocktails from Qream, they heard the latest tips and trends from some of the best in the industry.

Amongst the ravishing gowns, Lindsey from Mark Ingram Atelier informed the future brides that it is important to shop for your perfect gown at least seven months in advance.  You want to go to a reputable salon where you feel comfortable.  Fittings become a very intimate and emotional experience for brides, and you want to make sure you feel nothing but secure.  Lindsey also told us that color and illusion are both trending with wedding dress designs this year.  The perfect example, Vera Wang’s Red Line!

For the brides that aren’t quite that brave…What’s better to make a white dress POP than a black limo?  Mark from M&V Limousine advised that the timeless black limo is back!  Exotic stretched BMWs and Mercedes are all the rage right now, but the old antique classics are still very much the trend.  He also warned to make sure the company has backup vehicles.  They should make your special day run smoothly.

Michael from Studio Weber also shared his knowledge on wedding photography.  Editorial style is trending.  You want your photos to read like the storybook of your wedding day, so you must feel comfortable with your photographer.  Minimal shoots are better.  Too many options will take away from what we should really focus on – how beautiful you look!photo1 BB 05212012

It is important to consult with your photographer about makeup.  Michael Ann from Natura Blisse Barcelona let us know that minimal is also trending in skin care.  More and more brides want to look natural on their big day.  Michael Ann recommends using BB cream with SPF 20 and a foundation corrector.  Your makeup should look effortless!

Special thanks to our fabulous hosts at Mark Ingram Atelier!
