Dancing Shoes

One of the best parts about receptions is dancing. Whether you’re excited for your first dance with your fiance, your father/daughter dance or getting down with your guests, the right music is essential to a great atmosphere. First things first, you need a big enough dance floor. A big complaint amongst guests is a small dance floor or a dance floor that is too big and it looks like no one is dancing. Next is finding the right band or dj to get people moving. An MC will kick it off but it’s up to the DJ or band to keep the music pumping. For Reception Thursday we’ve compiled a list of 10 songs you need to play during your reception.

1. Just Dance- Lady Gaga

2. Good Feeling- Flo Rida

3. Party Rock Anthem- LMFAO

4. Safe and Sound- Capital Cities

5. I Like It- Enrique Inglesias

6. Thrift Shop- Mackelmore

7. Rattle- Bingo Players

8. Yeah- Usher

9. Locked Out of Heaven- Bruno Mars

10. Sexy Back- Justin Timberlake

These 10 are current and fun but feel free to add any classics that you know will get guests dancing. Talking with your DJ or Band about what music they are capable of playing and put together a playlist that is exciting and entertaining.

Happy Planning,
