Wear Waterproof Makeup
Use waterproof makeup to ensure your makeup will stay intact throughout the day.
Apply Makeup in Natural Light
Applying your makeup in natural light will give you a more realistic portrayal of your face and help prevent you from applying too much.
The last thing you want to worry about on your wedding day is getting a sunburn. Look for makeup that already has SPF in it and be sure to pack some for the day of.
Choose a Bright Lip Color
Choose a lip color that is one to two shades brighter than what you typically wear. This will prevent you from appearing washed out in a white dress. When choosing a lip color wear a white shirt to see how the color will look.
Do a Test Run
Practice your makeup ahead of time. Whether that be doing it yourself or booking an appointment with your makeup artist a couple of weeks beforehand to make sure your makeup is exactly what you want. This also goes for any self-tanning products you want to try out.
Apply Foundation/Bronzer to Your Chest
Applying foundation or bronzer to your chest will not only ruin your dress but it will also come off. Instead, experiment with different self-tanning products before the big day to give a more even skin tone.
Don’t Pop Pimples
A bride’s worst nightmare is to wake up on the day of their wedding and have a pimple. If this does happen, do NOT pop it. This will only make it worse.
Drastically Change Your Makeup Routine
As a bride, you want to look like the most beautiful version of yourself. Your makeup should reflect you and not someone else. The day of your wedding is not the time to radically alter your beauty routine.
Cake it On
Just because it’s your wedding day does not mean you have to layer on the makeup. Instead, choose brands that are long lasting. You can always do a touch up throughout the day.
Wait Until the Last Minute
Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to do your makeup. Don’t leave it up until the last minute and risk not being satisfied with the results.
