Rain Won’t Ruin Your Outdoor Wedding
A bride’s worst nightmare is for it to rain on her big day, especially if the wedding is outside. But don’t worry! With these backup plan ideas and wedding necessities nothing will come in the way.
Outdoor wedding considerations
Heat – On an ideal beautiful sunny day for a wedding, make sure to plan if there will there be shade for your guests to sit or stand under during the ceremony.
Limited space – Depending on location how much room will there be available? Does it limit your guest lists?
Electricity – Do you need to bring an outside power source to reach your location?
Rentals – You will need to bring all of your decor / rentals because an outdoor space is a blank canvas.
Outside Wedding Necessities
Water – Staying hydrated is one of the most important things for both the wedding party and the guests at an outdoor wedding.
Umbrellas (for heat or rain) – A “just in case” back up plan for any type of weather.
Hair spray/bug spray – Tame your hair on a windy day as well as keeping the bugs away from yourself and your guests.
Sunblock – No bride wants her wedding dress tan lines!
Alter / Focal point – You have to create your own alter at an outside wedding, make sure you have everything you want!
Rain Plan Tips
Back up plan – Always have a plan B! If there is a chance of rain will you move your wedding to an on-site venue? Or keep it at the same location and provide coverage?
Rent a tent or provide umbrellas – If you plan to keep your wedding outside, a tent is a safe way to go if there is a chance of rain. This way everyone can relocate to another area and be covered from the rain to enjoy the wedding. If you prefer keeping the location without moving, make sure to provide your guests with umbrellas.
