Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald are friends and accomplished bakers who got their start by baking bread in some of NYC’s most prolific restaurants. Together in 1995, they opened a bread shop and named it “Levain,” the French word for “leavened bread,” eventually adding delectable handmade cookies to the roster. Nearly 30 years later, Levain has brought their delicately crafted bread and cookies all over NYC.
